REVLON COLORBURST MATTE BALM IN 'SHAMELESS'

I.. have found.. the perfect purple.

I went on a hunt today to both Target and Ulta in search for the perfect purple lip product that I'm going to wear to my sorority's formal next month. I didn't want too deep of a shade and I also didn't want the super popular (thanks Pantone…) fuschia color that every brand is trying to pump out right now. I wanted the perfect purple. and I found it.

I reluctantly purchased this Revlon ColorBurst matte balm from Ulta and I say reluctantly because I already own one and the formula wasn't the BEST for my dry lips. That being said, I have found that layering this immediately on top of a waxy chapstick like Burt's Bees does allow this to not completely murder my lips! I really was hoping I would find my winner in NYX's Butter Glosses or Butter Lipsticks but they were too dark (but I will be purchasing them very soon they were beaauuutiful) but again, I couldn't pass this guy up.

Revlon is really trying to confuse me.. they've got these, the shiny balm versions of these AND the Balm Stains all in the same packaging! Luckily they're all slightly different textures/looks but still. Come on. The giant crayons are overtaking my lip drawer!

What I really like about the color of Shameless is that it's not TOO blue. It's not too violet. It's just a really nice almost dusty shade (so cliche, right?) that is just the right deep tone. I'm not going to look like I'm trying for the edgy goth look but it'll definitely edge UP a look that you wear it with. Especially my long gown that I plan to pair it with!

It appears uneven in the photo and although it's not a complete opaque wash, it's not noticeably sheer or patchy. It looks great. One of my favorite lippies already!

Now I'm having an internal battle about whether or not I want to buy more of these matte balms ahhhhh I don't need ANY more lip products but who am I joking? Do any of you have any of these in colors aside from Unapologetic and Shameless? How do you like 'em?
