- This exclusive rubberized basecoat grips polish to the nail surface for adhesion that lasts.
- Prevents nail color from peeling, chipping or wearing off for up to two weeks.
Now, let's be real. No nail product can prevent nail color from peeling, chipping or wearing off for up to two weeks. Even my gel experiences haven't lasted that long! So I knew that claim would immediately be busted and as expected, it was. This base coat did not extend my manicures nearly as long as my beloved OPI Nail Envy does which really surprised me with the whole "rubber" aspect in this one. With a typical mani, Orly Bonder extended my wear time by about a day. Compared to Nail Envy which easily extends the time by at least three days.
What I think this product does best is to adhere the polish to the nail bed better so that the polish is less prone to peel off in one giant sheet (you know what I'm talking about). When it comes to wear and tear on the tips of your nails, this doesn't help you out that much. While that's what I really need the most help with, it doesn't mean that I'm going to completely forgo this! Whenever I'm using a thicker polish, I will be sure to use this so that the polish doesn't do the peel off in one fail swoop deal.
How have your experiences been with base coats? What is your favorite?
I'm always down to try new ones :)
