MTV MOVIE AWARDS 2014 BEST DRESSED

Two posts in one day! eeek! How exciting of me! But the MTV Movie Awards were last night and aside from the crazy antics from host Conan O’Brien, “best shirtless” winner Zac Efron (and the ripping off of his shirt on stage!) and rockin’ tunes from performers such as Twenty One Pilots (!!!) the awards were pretty tame. One could not say the same about the red carpet fashions, however!

Celebs came dressed to impress in all kinds of trends from slits to laser cutting and lots and lots of cutouts. It was all about showing some skin with the dominating trends of the evening: white and cropped pieces. Here are my top five best dressed from the evening…

#5 Ellie Goulding
In fifth place came Ellie Goulding in her simple, long white gown. Ellie teetered between formal and casual but was able to cool down her attire with loose hair and side cutouts! She was one of many ladies rocking the white tonight and she pulled it off tastefully and event-appropriately.

#4 Tyler Oakley
Not often are men placed into “Best Dressed” lists because of their usual attire but Tyler Oakley’s outfit definitely placed him apart from the others earning him a spot on my list! His eggplant-purple tuxedo jacket looked great against the rest of his all-black ensemble and his silver locks looked better than ever! He kept fashionable and cool, the key to any MTV awards show Red Carpet. It's also Tyler Oakley. He makes the list just by being himself.

#3 Rocsi Diaz
Entertainment Tonight host Rocsi Diaz played up the night’s white trend by rocking an exquisite lasercut shirt and skirt combo. Just like the others on the list, Rosci kept it casual while still looking put together. Matched with minimal nude heels, a simple gold bracelet and spunky pink lips, this outfit was a definite winner and landed her in the third spot! The only thing keeping her from being higher up on my list is her hair and eyebrows.. the hair just isn't doing it for me and those sharpie brows don't help either!

#2 Zendaya Coleman
Rolling into our second spot is last month’s Naked covergirl Zendaya. The “it” girl wore a rose patterened dress that had a solid color blocking at the bottom. The sleeves and length made it age-appropriate while the colors and killer thigh slit edged it up a bit. She let the dress do the talking with simple wavy hair and black accessories and looked like a total gem during her pre-show hosting. Also, +5 points for those eyebrows! Gosh, could she be more amazing?

#1 Jessica Alba
Without any doubt in our minds the best dressed celeb from last night was Jessica Alba. She wore an adorable scuba crop top/skirt duo and paired it with her signature honey waves and a giant black handbag. Her chartreuse skirt looked awesome on the red carpet and looked even more outstanding when she announced an award later into the evening. Her black and white heels added a little bit of interest into her outfit without taking away from the simplistic nature of it all. Scuba materials are a growing trend this Spring and Jessica rocked the trend wholly. Just can’t get over it! Ugh! I love her!

Aside from these five fashions, I really did not enjoy the awards show last night. Either MTV is getting worse at hosting these kinds of things or I'm just outgrowing them but I couldn't seem to watch for more than a few minutes at a time without cringing. Here's to forever checking the red carpet photos but never watching the event itself!

Did you watch last night? Who's outfits did you enjoy the most?

VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS 2013 BEST DRESSED

Running a little late over here but it not like this year's VMAs has already been forgotten... right?! I straight-up refuse to discuss a certain event because I'm just sickened and completely annoyed by the artist and their schenanigans. Onto the important things.. like Katy's performance! Swoon. I fall in love with that woman more and more every day. Okay, seriously. Important things. LIKE THE FASHION!

From L to R: Ariana Grande, Allison Williams, Ellie Goulding, Shailene Woodley and Mary Lambert
These five ladies are my top best dressed and are in no order whatsoever! I had a bit of trouble finding five as it seemed people did not really do it for me but after enough digging I did find this group and I love all of them.

First up is the world's newest sweetheart, Ariana Grande. I've been a fan of hers for awhile and it's very cool to watch her fame grow each month(it seems!) and I loved this floral dress of hers. The shoes were just as adorable as was her everyday long, curled hairstyle. The only thing I constantly strive of her is to fill in her brows!!!! It's the biggest pet peeve of mine! But who am I to judge somebody off of something like that? Silly. Overall, she's cute like always.

Second over is Allison Williams from the show 'Girls' and her overall look was so beautiful for me. The hair up and away from her face with that higher neckline, the smokey eyes and that cream color? Gorgeous. I don't personally know her or her work but she's an A+ in my fashion book!

Now, now now.. Ellie Goulding. I'm giving this lady my gold star for BEST DRESSED!!!! This gown was so absolutely perfect in every way. Loved the muted grey-blue color, the STUDS and that fantastic slit. That is a slit done correctly. Plus, her hair looked effortless and put-together. AAA+++, Ellie.

Another love of my life is Shailene Woodley. After watching some interviews of hers over the past few weeks I've grown into a bigger fan of hers as she is very classy and such a lovely girl. It's unfortunate that her first role that everybody knew her as was from 'Secret Life of the American Teenager' because that show was absolute rubbish. Terrible. It watered down her acting ability so much it should embarrass everybody involved in the show. I'm pumped to see her new movies coming out (Divergent and The Spectacular Now). Aside from her acting, her look was so chic. I love those kinds of tops when they're done correctly and she definitely pulled it off well.

Lastly was somebody that I just learned about, Mary Lambert. Also known as the woman in Macklemore and Ryan Lewis' 'Same Love'. Incredible voice and incredible tattoos. Man, can she rock them. Plus, I'm a sucker for a sequin gown and the color and fit really suited her nicely. Maybe a little too fancy for the VMAs but altogether put together nicely and totally sparkled when she was on stage to accept her award and perform!

I would love to know who your favorites were at the VMAs fashion-wise since I thought the pool was so shallow this year. Let me know in the comments!

ACADEMY AWARDS 2013 BEST DRESSED

Helllooo, neutrals!! Okay let's start off with the fact that so many ladies were dressed impeccably on Sunday evening! I had so many that I had to get to the point where I just nixed girls because their hair was down. I believe this is the only night that your hair should and must be in an updo. It's the OSCAR'S! Come on. Okay. Here they are. My top five.

From L to R: Amanda Seyfried, Samantha Barks, Jennifer Lawrence, Naomi Watts and Amy Adams
I'm not going to go too deep into detail about each look just because that's lame and y'all can form your own opinion!! I really, really LOVED Samantha Barks' look and I know some of you won't like it because it was so plain but that's why it's my number two instead of one! Amanda Seyfriend didn't 'WOW' me to the point of my jaw dropping but I really just thought she looked the most put-together! Jennifer Lawrence had a moment while Naomi Watts kept it edgy and cool! Amy Adam's dress was cute but I wasn't toooooo into the feathering at the bottom, although I do think it kept her feminine and I loved the color on her!!

That's all!

GRAMMY'S 2013 BEST DRESSED

WOW. WO WO WO WO WO WWOWOWO WOW. The Grammy's on Sunday were exceptional! I usually make it though an hour or so of awards shows and then get bored out of my mind but for some reason that I cannot pinpoint, the Grammy's this year were out of this world. I loved every presenter, every performance, every collaboration, everything! With the exception of Taylor Swift but I'm just not even going to go there.. The fashion was pretty on point, too! Nothing out of this world but I definitely had my favorites. Without further adieu, here they are. My top five best-dressed ladies!

From L to R: Rihanna, Carrie Underwood, Kelly Rowland, Carly Rae Jepsen and Natasha Bedingfield
Rihanna's entire persona last night was dubbed my honorary best dressed person simply because she knocked out her red carpet wear and both performance outfits! I loved this red Azzedine Alaia gown because of the flowy train and adorable back! I can't find any photos of the back right now but if you wander around Google for long enough, I guarantee you'll find it. and I recommend that you do! A++++ for you, miss Fenty.

Another woman who was a total hit out of the park was Miss Carrie Underwood, or really Mrs. Carrie Fisher. She would have tied or beat Rihanna in my book but she didn't perform so she didn't have those extra chances to shine! However, her dress was outstanding! ((EDIT: She totally did perform and rocked that awesome graphic-LED-light up dress! With that, I have to make the top two a tie!)) There was an intricate bodice that led to this beautiful, watery, flowy bottom that just floated her around as she walked. Her perfect necklace added to her look and really was one of my favorite pieces of the night (I heard she was wearing $31 million in jewelry!!!)

Kelly Rowland's dress was my favorite of the edgier group and I especially loved the mermaid fit. It was so fitted and showing all on the body so the bottom being loose and again, my favorite word, flowy really made my fall in love with a cherry on top. Neckline was fantastic as well as her hair choice with that neckline. Whole thing looked great.

The actual mermaid of the night was Carly Rae Jepsen who, if you didn't see it on TV, you can't really get a feel for her look. She said that it made her feel like Ariel when she put it on and she really did! Her blue sparkly eye makeup matched with the shimmer and glitz of her gown in the light really made her look like a mermaid in the absolute best way possible! However, Carly, please get rid of the bangs. Please!

My fifth choice was somebody that I didn't personally see on the Red Carpet (although I was a little late to the show) and that was Natasha Bedingfield. I only saw this look Sunday evening as I was compiling all of my favorite looks and I loved that she went outside of the black/white/gray range which seemed to be all the rage and choose a red look like my #1! Her hair and makeup looked fab and my favorite part of the ensemble is that silver belt cuff! Amazing!

Who were some of y'alls favorites of Sunday night?

SCREEN ACTOR'S GUILD 2013 BEST DRESSED

The SAG awards were on Sunday and I was super excited to see the Red Carpet looks however, I was thoroughly disappointed. I had a difficult time coming up with five ladies' looks.

First and most certainly deserved, Jessica Chastain. I just recently saw her in Zero Dark Thirty and fell in love with her. After seeing this look, I just fell deeper. The red compliments her pale skin so beautifully and her hair looked effortless. Amazing.

Jenna Fischer was next who gained points in my book for wearing a short sleeved gown. Not very often that you see that pulled off well! The metallic gradient of the dress paired with a soft, metallic smokey eye was a perfect A+ combo.

Next, a celeb I didn't expect to appear on my blog that much.. or ever. Helen Hunt's silver sparklepiece (sparkle + masterpiece!!) looked great on her! It was silver glitz that didn't go disco ball-y. She also went with soft waves just as our first two ladies did and it did her well.

Lea Michele is no stranger to my lists! This is her third of three that she's made it on and my fourth post involving her! Sheesh! Well deserved, though because this pink gown was a breath of fresh air on the Carpet after some pretty dark hues. Ombréd extensions added to the spunk of her ensemble.

Lastly is Nicole Kidman. She barely, barely slid into my list but I just couldn't get over the gorgeous deep-blue color of her dress and her hair!! looked amazing! Perkier and shorter than usual, now near her collarbones. She went without bag and just let her look speak for itself!

Did you watch the SAG Awards on Sunday? Which look was your favorite?

PEOPLE'S CHOICE 2013 BEST DRESSED

My all-time favorite part of awards season is the fashion. Obviously. I have been doing this sort of 'best dressed' thing on my tumblr account for a couple of years and now that I've got an actual blog focused on beauty and fashion, I'm going to move my lists here! Each awards show I choose the five best dressed, accessorized and overall just best looking and I'll post them here!

It's difficult sometimes to judge celebrities on things (although we shouldn't really be judging people at all, but come on..) because our personal feelings about how we like them or not come into play. Personally, I do not like Taylor Swift at all. But if I feel like she deserves to me on my list, I'll put her there. I'll try my hardest to not be biased! But.. let's just say she'll have to reallllly wow me for me to put her in. Haha!

First of the new year was the People's Choice Awards last week.

Topping the list was Lea Michele, next Rumer Willis, Chloe Grace-Moretz, Ashley Rickards and the adorable host for a second year, Kaley Cuoco.
