RIMMEL STAY MATTE MOUSSE FOUNDATION

TWO MAJOR THINGS TO START OFF WITH…. Where have I been?! Man, school has been crazy lately. Not even school. My sorority has been so active with so many things and of course me being the natural leader and social butterfly that I am (okay well not the butterfly but I'm trying really hard to be) I have been doing things all day every day so I have not had time to dedicate to this lovely blog of mine. Man, I miss y'all.

Second thing, This is a foundation post. WHAT?

If you know me you know that I don't wear foundation. Occasionally I will dab concealer on my forehead and make my own kind of foundation but I never ever wear anything on my face for numerous reasons. If you're interested in knowing those reasons, you can watch my video titled "Why I Don't Wear Foundation". Such a self-explanatory title. Now, I did not purchase this foundation. I got it in my most recent Influenster UniBox which I will be posting about later this weekend. I was skeptical at first but since I received it for the purpose of reviewing it I decided that I needed to try it out.

Here's where the weird thing happened.. I liked it.

The foundation that I'm blabbering about is the Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation. I should have known to trust Rimmel in that they would keep us pale folk in mind when they made this line. The shade 'Light Porcelain' is LIGHT ENOUGH FOR MY PALE, PALE SKIN!!!

As you can see above, the foundation does not entirely block out my freckles (good) and blemishes (bad). The texture of this stuff is a thick mousse that applies just as you'd imagine. It's pretty thick until it's completely blended out across your skin but then at that point it turns into a powdery kind of product that rests really well on the skin. One of the claims of this product is that it's 'lightweight' and although it's not necessarily heavy and cakey on the face, it's not the most lightweight of products. That could also be because I'm not used to wearing face products..

Nonetheless, I am sold. This stuff almost makes me want to start wearing foundation. The staying power is no joke with it staying well on my T-zone for around six hours before starting to get a little shiny. When that happened I just slapped on some of my MAC Mineralized Skin Finish Natural and it kept going strong until the end of my day after that!

My sorority's formal is coming up in a couple of weeks and I think I'm going to wear this that night. That's how great of a time I've had with it in the past week. Formal is like grown up prom so just imagine the trust that I will be putting in my makeup products for that evening! If that doesn't speak volumes about this stuff then I don't know what will.

I am going to repeat myself and say that this product was given to me via Influenster but this opinion of mine is entirely my own. I truly am having a love affair with this stuff. It ranges from $4.99 to $5.49 in different drug stores so it's very affordable and I recommend it to all of you. All skin types. All skin colors! The only issue with colors is that there are only eight shades so finding the right one for you may be a bit difficult. With that, I wish you luck!

NEW! RIMMEL SHOW OFF LIP LACQUER IN 'NUDE DELIGHT'

Hiiii guys. I legitimately bought this color a few hours after my initial posting about the Rimmel Show Off Lip Lacquers went up but I didn't want to completely redo it all. So here's another post about them! If you want to go read what I said about them in general, head on over to that post. This post is going to be on the color 'Nude Delight'.

The main reason I'm so pleased with this color is that it's actually a wearable nude for me. All drugstore nudes typically are too dark for me and I never want to invest in a nicer brand so I just never get to rock nude lips. The issue with those aforementioned drugstore nudes is that they're all very warm and orangey. This guy is more brown-toned. However, it will not look good on it's own for me. It will only look okay with a stronger eye look OR when I layer it overtop of another lip product in order to calm it down a bit. My favorite combo is Nude Delight with MAC's Viva Glam Gaga lipstick.

NEW! RIMMEL SHOW OFF LIP LACQUERS

!!!!!!!!! YOU. GUYS. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been waiting for these to be released in America for what feels like absolute ages. FINALLY the US has the equivalent of the Rimmel Apocalips. I found mine at my local Walgreens (and wasn't able to find them at CVS or Rite Aid) for $4.99 each. Pretty well priced and the display will still say 'Apocalips' so you can still look for that! The only difference is the title on the package.

I got the colors Luna, Stellar, Big Bang, Apocaliptic and Nova. All of the colors are light and smooth on the lips. The smell is pleasantly sweet to me but I have heard that other don't exactly care for it. However, the smell fades very quickly. The unfortunate part of these guys is that they don't exactly last as long as a lipstick so it makes it harder for me to call them liquid lipsticks. They are going to be pretty close, though. They tend to cling to my dryness when I wear them to work when I'm not able to keep myself hydrated for an elongated period of time. So keep that in mind but also know that if you're in a situation where you're going to be able to upkeep then you should be set!

My standout favorite of the group is definitely Luna. I wasn't expeccting to like it as much as I did but it's such a wearable, light orange color. Which is unique. I like unique.

The consistency of the product reminds me a loooot of the L'Oreal Caresse lipsticks. The applicator is pretty similar as it's a bit bendy and.. soft. Odd. But great at applying the product.

Definitely go check these out! I like them a lot and for the price, you can't lose!

RIMMEL MOISTURE RENEW LIPSTICKS

Hi everyone. Today's post is about some lipsticks that were sort of the beginning of it all for me. Rimmel's Moisture Renew lipsticks were pretty much the first ones that I bought at the start of my beauty obsession and 'Pink Chic' was my go-to lip color, regardless of event, for evvvvver. I just recently purchased 'Mauve Pink' last Spring for Prom because I needed a little darker of a color.

'Pink Chic' is a pretty light pink and 'Mauve Pink' is a darker, plummier sort of color. Pink Chic is more opaque than Mauve Pink because the latter tends to be more of a wash of color than an actual lipstick. As the name explains, these are super moisturizing and have no tendency to dry your lips out and don't leave a rim around the outsides of your lips. That being said, these have the consistency that would lead to not-so-long wear time and that is definitely true. They don't last long but they wear off evenly so you can just apply again without any problems.

I don't see myself buying any more colors of these lipsticks, however because over the past year I just haven't been able to fall in love with any of their available shades. There are just so many more other lipsticks out there that have a much wider array of colors that are just as great and especially since Rimmel now has the Lasting Finish and the Kate Moss Lasting Finish lipsticks, I feel like they'll put all their love into that line. But it's okay! I really do like these two colors and Pink Chic continues to be my favorite pink lipstick that I own.

DEMURE ST. PATRICK'S DAY LOOK + RIMMEL SCANDAL EYES REVIEW

If you thought that my other St. Patrick's Day look was a little too out there then I hope that this look will be a little more exciting for you! I was in Ulta the other day to pick up a green L'Oreal Infalliable shadow but I wasn't actually as impressed as I was with how it looked online, in person. I walked past Rimmel's products and saw these Scandal Eyes shadow sticks and was slightly confused because I had actually never heard of these before!

They are definitely a competitor for NYX's Jumbo eye pencils because of size and price (these are about $4.50, depending where you shop) but the products are both a bit different in feel and longevity.

I got the color 'Gossip Green' for this St. Patrick's look but I will definitely be back to get a few others. They have a selection of colors that you can definitely find one that you want! There's a purple, white, gray, black, blue and more!

Those were the only two green eyeshadow sticks or eyeliners that I owned so I just put them all side-by-side.

The Scandal Eyes apply much smoother than the NYX Jumbo eye pencils, but do not blend as well. They BLEND well but they will not hold their color while blending. That can be good or bad! Just depends on the look you're going for.

and for a more understated St. Patty's look, just wear a green liner or shadow stick on your bottom lash line! Gives your eyes a festive twist without going too overboard :)

RIMMEL LONDON LASTING FINISH BY KATE MOSS LIPSTICK 01

I am so pleasantly surprised with this lipstick! As I was in Ulta the other day it hit me that I really did not own a red lipstick. At all, really! All of my lippies are pinks and berries and I even have a black or two.. but no red! I had some NYX matte lip creams in red as well as some NYX jumbo lip pencils in a darkish red but again, no true red lipsticks. So I changed that. I may as well buy the kind of lipstick that I have been loving lately, right? So I headed over to the Rimmel London area and checked out the Kate Moss lipsticks and found my classic color in a classic number (#01).

It looks super dark in the tube but does not show up that way on the lips whatsoever. There is truly no drag and it lasts a long time, giving your lips a stained look afterward which some may like and others not! I have yet to wear it for an elongated amount of time, but I almost never wear lip color without a liner so I would definitely suggest that prior to applying this color!

So glad I didn't have to go MAC to find my perfect red! Check this bad guy out next time you're out and about.

RIMMEL LONDON LASTING FINISH BY KATE MOSS LIPSTICKS

Yesterday I stopped by Ulta and picked up a few things. Of those few things, two were some Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate Moss lipsticks! I got the colors 90 and 103, a muted natural pink and a neon flamingo color.

An update from my post yesterday is that the red tubes are from the line's matte collection and the black tubes are the original formula. Odd that I didn't notice that 103 wasn't matte at the start, but I'll have to go back and notice it.
