Second thing, This is a foundation post. WHAT?
If you know me you know that I don't wear foundation. Occasionally I will dab concealer on my forehead and make my own kind of foundation but I never ever wear anything on my face for numerous reasons. If you're interested in knowing those reasons, you can watch my video titled "Why I Don't Wear Foundation". Such a self-explanatory title. Now, I did not purchase this foundation. I got it in my most recent Influenster UniBox which I will be posting about later this weekend. I was skeptical at first but since I received it for the purpose of reviewing it I decided that I needed to try it out.
Here's where the weird thing happened.. I liked it.
The foundation that I'm blabbering about is the Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation. I should have known to trust Rimmel in that they would keep us pale folk in mind when they made this line. The shade 'Light Porcelain' is LIGHT ENOUGH FOR MY PALE, PALE SKIN!!!
As you can see above, the foundation does not entirely block out my freckles (good) and blemishes (bad). The texture of this stuff is a thick mousse that applies just as you'd imagine. It's pretty thick until it's completely blended out across your skin but then at that point it turns into a powdery kind of product that rests really well on the skin. One of the claims of this product is that it's 'lightweight' and although it's not necessarily heavy and cakey on the face, it's not the most lightweight of products. That could also be because I'm not used to wearing face products..
Nonetheless, I am sold. This stuff almost makes me want to start wearing foundation. The staying power is no joke with it staying well on my T-zone for around six hours before starting to get a little shiny. When that happened I just slapped on some of my MAC Mineralized Skin Finish Natural and it kept going strong until the end of my day after that!
My sorority's formal is coming up in a couple of weeks and I think I'm going to wear this that night. That's how great of a time I've had with it in the past week. Formal is like grown up prom so just imagine the trust that I will be putting in my makeup products for that evening! If that doesn't speak volumes about this stuff then I don't know what will.
I am going to repeat myself and say that this product was given to me via Influenster but this opinion of mine is entirely my own. I truly am having a love affair with this stuff. It ranges from $4.99 to $5.49 in different drug stores so it's very affordable and I recommend it to all of you. All skin types. All skin colors! The only issue with colors is that there are only eight shades so finding the right one for you may be a bit difficult. With that, I wish you luck!
Let me know your thoughts on this stuff and what you would like me to cover in my future posts! I'm glad to be back after my mini blog-cation.
I have this foundation and I really love it! I haven't worn much of it lately because at my internship I'm doing I'm out of the house for 12 hours and this foundation doesn't last /quite/ that long on me (I've been wearing Revlon ColorStay instead), but once I'm done I will definitely be going back to this foundation! I'm so glad the lightest shade is light enough for me too! Also I found I prefer applying this with a damp sponge rather than a brush because it gives it a less heavy feeling on the skin, so maybe give that a try if you haven't!

I actually like applying this with my fingers! I never use a brush for my concealers or anything it's always either Beauty Blender or fingers hahha
DeleteInteresting -- Thanks for your review, I will definitely be giving this foundation a try! I like that they have pale enough colors, too.
ReplyDeleteYes! Thank goodness for somebody listening to our needs :)
DeleteThank you so much for posting about this! I got it in the same shade and it's almost a perfect match to my skin. I've never found anything remotely close to pale or pink enough.
