HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE: JEWELRY LOVER

jewelry laid out from south moon under, baublebar and kendra scott for holiday gift guide inspiration

I'm not big on gift guides BUT I have found myself drooooooling over some jewelry lately across a few different sites so I figured I'd throw together a mix of what I've seen that's new and pretty in jewelry land.

1. I have two favorite stones from Kendra Scott. I love her opals and I love her dichroic glass. These studs are the latter-- and come in two more colors! They're fairly large for studs-- which I prefer. If you're gonna buy pricier jewelry that you think is cute for someone, I think they should show them off as much as possible!

2. If you follow me on Instagram then you know about my obsession with South Moon Under's resin tortoise earrings. I own two of the three shown above and fully intend on buying the third as well. I love the creaminess and contrast of this tortoise pattern and they're sooo light. It's like you aren't even wearing earrings. I sent a picture to my sister after I bought my first pair and she immediately went and bought the same ones. They're definitely a gifting winner!

3. Another fave of mine from Kendra Scott are her lariats. This one comes in three colors and is a unique addition to a layered necklace look.

4. This necklace looks a bit wild but I think it's just so cool. The discs look like they're floating on your neck and the choker length creates an edgy, yet simple vibe. AKA MY VIBE. Edgy, yet simple. Always. This one also comes in silver!

5. On the topic of creamy and contrasted, this sweet bracelet is just that. I'm a sucker for anything black and white and speckled. This bracelet is made of dalmatian stone-- which, other than sounding cute, balances the emotions and body. Plus, it's stretchy. Who doesn't prefer a stretchy bracelet? This allows it to fit many different sized wrists so it makes a worry-free gift.

6. Next are some statement earrings. They also come in a blush but something about the black and gold screams New Year's Eve to me and these would be the BEST party earrings for somebody. These also come in blush!

7. Lastly is this delicate letter necklace. You can pick any letter you want for your recipient for your name, their name or anything else your heart desires. I want to pick up the 'B' for my first name (and future last name!) The chain balances the off-kilter letter by placing in two small stones up the chain to the left. It's dainty and understated but will feel extra special with the personalized letter-- without having to pay for an actual personalized gift.

JOYKATHARINE JEWELRY

I was given the opportunity to try on JoyKatharine Jewelry's golden knot ring this past week! It's an adorably dainty but detailed wire knotted ring that looks great paired with other rings and gold bracelets or on it's on! It stacks well but is quaint enough on it's on to be worn by itself which is what I found myself doing the most this week. My skinny little fingers fit a size 7 well but I could have probably gotten away with a 6. The wiring is sturdy but can be bent to fit your exact finger shape perfectly.

Thank you so much to JoyKatharine Jewelry! I love this ring so much!
Check out the rest of the goodies she has for sale and let me know if you purchase any!

P.S. I totally have my eye on this twisted pearl necklace. SWOON!

HOW I ORGANIZE MY EARRINGS

Hi! Today's post is about my jewelry. Specifically, my earrings. Even further, my dangling earrings. I don't wear studs often simply because I like the three diamonds that I have in both my ears 24/7. I don't ever feel the need to replace them with other studs but whenever I want to get a little dressy, I do like to pop in some dangling earrings. Here's where my storage comes into play..

I began to store my earrings like this a few years ago and ever since, life has been so much easier and neater! I take the earrings with whatever paper backing they come on (and if they don't come with one.. well, I have taken a few from Forever 21 as extras hehe) and directly tape them to my wall! I don't even have the clear backs on any of them. The wall being right there helps keep them in place no matter what. It's really simple and I really like how it looks, too. Also, it keeps all of your pieces from getting tangled, lost or broken.

Super easy and super cute decorations! Been wanting to share this with you all for a little bit so I'm glad I finally could get around to it :)

KENDRA SCOTT EARRINGS

I'm not sure how I did but I stumbled across a jewelry designer named Kendra Scott a little over a year ago and I've been entirely in love with everything she comes out with. I've yet to own a piece(curses living on the East Coast!! I want to buy my jewelry in person!) but I know so many people who do. She's has quite a large following within the Texan crowd and having gone to school in Oklahoma, I met my fair share of Texans.

Anywho, I'm in love with her. For this post I'm going to focus on her earrings. One of the highlights of Kendra is that she has a color bar where you can fit most of her earring forms with whichever stone(s) you'd like. You could have a different color stone in each spot of an earring if your little heart desired it! You can visit her website here.

See? You can make thousands of different jewelry items! and the best part is that the color bar doesn't cost any extra! You get to choose between gold or silver, too. I have a soft spot for her stone called 'chalcedony' oooOOoooh my goodness is it beautiful! If anybody is ever wondering what to get me.. some Kendra Scott earrings in chalcedony will make you my favorite person ever. Most likely. Yes.

Without any further adieu, I shall post my favorite earrings from the goddess of jewelry that is Kendra Scott.

(L to R: Mariena earrings in rose, Skylar earrings in lilac,
Darby earrings in chalcedony and Melody Chandelier earrings in light blue)

Wow I totally did not mean to go with a pastel theme.. but her lighter colors are so beautiful! She does have a wider range, though. You're just gonna have to check her site out yourself.

FANCYING UP A FLANNEL

I own a bunch of flannels that aren't really the cutest on me from a few years ago and they have been hanging out in the back of my closet for what seems like forever. I decided I needed to find a way to make them a little cuter and so I came up with this duo! Putting on a cute layered necklace underneath the collar dresses the top up a bit, especially when the necklace has pearls like the one I used.

Check out my look below:

[Shirt from American Eagle, necklace: BaubleBar (no longer available, see similar)]
Hope this inspires you to try some looks to fancy up those less-than-stellar tops that we all own!
