URBAN DECAY VICE LIPSTICK IN '714'

Hello everybody! Happy Monday.

Today I am sharing with you my newest lippie to add to my collection.

Introducing... Urban Decay's Vice lipstick in '714'

Yeah. Lip lines ain't crisp. Sorry :(

I got this guy in the 2016 Sephora Favorites Beauty's Most Trending bundle and I love the color. It's bright, festive berryish red and it really has a POP factor. It's advertised as a matte but I never experienced it matte-ing down. It seemed to stay satin, which was fine. I was so impressed that I got a full sized lipstick (a fairly newly released one) in this Sephora Favorites group. You really truly cannot beat the $75 price tag for what you get, especially this year. If you’re looking to pick up one of UD’s Vice lipsticks, they are $17 each.

URBAN DECAY MOONDUST EYESHADOW IN "SOLSTICE"

Last week I gave into the deep red-brown toned/teal duochrome obsession that I have. For a third time. I should have known better, yes but does that ever stop me when it comes to beauty? Nope.

So here's the newest addition to my collection: the Urban Decay Moondust eyeshadow in "Solstice".

From one angle it's a beautiful purple-y berry shimmer pot (see above) but from a straightforward view it's a metallic teal wonderland (see below). It does not have an overwhelming amount of pigment within it with all of it's metallic and chrome finishes battling themselves to apply to your eye. That being said, this product is best applied wet. It helps the most of the product stick to your eye and gives it the staying power it needs to stay vibrant for hours.

I was curious how this stacked up next to my two other similar shadows, MAC's "Blue Brown" pigment and Colourpop's eyeshadow in "Kindness". MAC's once-hyped pigment has either lost it's luster over it's time in my possession or simply pales in comparison to my other two newer babes. Compared to Colourpop's "Kindness", Urban Decay fell flat. However, they are both two different finishes with CP's being more of a wet cream and UD's being a powder.

From L to R: MAC "Blue Brown" pigment, Urban Decay Moondust eyeshadow in "Solstice", Colourpop eyeshadow in "Kindness"
In my look in my last post I layered Colourpop with Urban Decay on top to add extra vibrancy.

While I initially thought I had three very, very similar shadows on my hands, I really don't. They all kind of do their own thing and work in their own ways. I'm so happy about that, too…. because I hate duplicates in my collection ;)

Have a wonderful weekend!

MAKEUP OF THE DAY - 07/18/15

Some how in some way I found myself having off on a Saturday! It's definitely a rare occasion so I'm taking full advantage and keeping myself busy— and outdoors— all day. Since I had as much time as I wanted to get ready, I did things a little differently today and played around a bit with some products that haven't seen the light in awhile.

Before
After
I've had a couple of blemishes pop up lately which is usual for my skin in the summertime but they've been nothing that my beloved Pro Longwear concealer can't handle! I hadn't pulled out my Vice palette by Urban Decay in a hella long time so I decided today was the day to give it some love. I created a pretty purple melt across the eye using a few shades and brought back a NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil as well! Check out the products that I used below.

Products used
Eyes
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Urban Decay eyeshadows in 'Rapture' (outer half), 'Provocative' (inner half) and 'Vice' (crease/blending)
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in 'Pots and Pans' underneath 'Provocative' to give it something to stick to
Stila Stay All Day liquid eyeliner
Maybelline Colossal mascara (top lashes)
L'Oreal Miss Manga Rock (bottom lashes)

Brows
Urban Decay eyeshadows in 'Secret Service' (darker) and 'Naked' (lighter)

Face
Benefit The Big Easy liquid foundation in 'Fair'
MAC Pro Longwear concealer in N15
MAC Mineralized Skin Finish Natural in 'Light'
MAC Wash and Dry Studio Sculpt Defining Powder in 'Delicates'
MAC blush in 'Melba'

Lips
NARS Satin lip pencil in 'Rikugien'

Also, can we talk about Sephora's birthday gift this year/month/right now?! Two NARS lip pencils?! OMG These are by far the best birthday gifts I've gotten from them and I've been gettin' 'em every year for a looooongggggg time… love love love! BUT that's all I've got for today! I hope you guys like the look and I'll talk to ya next week.

Enjoy your weekend! I know I will mine.

OH MY.. URBAN DECAY'S NAKED3

Have you heard the news?! Urban Decay, all of our favorites, has announced that they will be releasing a Naked3 palette, appropriately named as the third palette in the Naked palette lineup. I wasn't expecting to see any reviews for awhile but of course the one true OG of the beauty blogger/vlogger world, xSparkage was ready to roll. She posted a review sans on-eye swatches but I was able to get a feel for the palette enough to know that I.. don't.. think.. I.. want.. it..

Click here to view her post.

After they announced the palette and prior to showing us photos I made a guess as to what I imagined it was going to be. For some reason I was really pulling for a blue-swayed group with a super rich navy on the far right. Well, I was way off. I do have to say I am very, very excited to see eye swatches of the colors on the right but the far left six do not excite me in the slightest. This may all change once I see them in person but as of right now I'm not about to run out and pre-order it as soon as I can!

I am stoked that the packaging is similar to Naked2, though. It's the same kind of container but the top is a different kind of.. wrinkled look. Which is weird. But the sturdy nature of the actual palette is fantastic.

This all being said, if you are interested in knowing exactly when the palette is available to order, sign up for Urban Decay emails here!

Regardless of whether I'm going to get it or not, getting a new palette as elite as a Naked is always exciting around the beauty world because it means we get something new to discuss and dissect!
