QUICK AND EASY HOLIDAY HAIRSTYLE FOR ALL LENGTHS AND TEXTURES

Happy Tuesday! Merry Christmas to those of you who celebrate.

Regardless of beliefs, we all have one holiday coming up: New Year's Eve!

I'm taking a quick break from packing up my life because I wanted to share this super easy, yet impactful holiday hairstyle that can work for any hair length. It's quick, cheap and super easy to do. All you need are some bobby pins and a fairly firm hairspray.

photo showing simple and cheap holiday hairstyle with bobby pins

You can personalize this style to any hair type or length. You can choose to go natural, slick it straight or curl like me! I utilized two different lengths of bobby pins to get a more "sunburst" look but you can use all the same length to keep it mod. This style starts with a deep side part.

If you want to go the curl route like me, I curled my entire head away from my face with a 1 1/4" curling iron.

Next, take your bobby pins and open them up between your fingers. Spray hairspray in and around the bobby pin so it can securely hold your hair. If you have less or finer hair than me this may not be 100% necessary but it's better to be safe (and secure) than sorry. On the side of your part and using your ear as your guide, pull back your hair behind your ear and secure with a sticky bobby. Take this time to angle the bobby in a way that makes a statement! Repeat as needed to complete your design. Finish with another spritz of hairspray for good measure and you are ready to party all night long.

I hope you enjoy and let me know if you end up rocking this hairstyle for any of your upcoming holiday events. I'd love to see pictures! You can use #baileybeebeauty to tag your pics on Instagram.

Feel free to shop this post below. My top of from LuLu*s and I couldn't link the exact one. There's a similar one below but this is the exact one.

BITE BEAUTY LIQUIFIED LIPSTICKS IN 'ECLAIR', 'FLAMBE' AND 'BRAISED'

Welcome to my first feature of Bite Beauty on Beautymunson! I had been slowly building up a collection of Bite products when they released their Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipsticks. Not a LIQUID lipstick, a liquified lipstick. Do you remember where we all used to be before the liquid lipstick trend? Here!

I bought my typical, mid-Pink aka 'Èclair', a fun red-orange aka 'Flambé' and a deeper (and my go-to) red aka 'Braised'.

I really like these. One of the reasons I really like this product is because of the gel-like texture and the easy application. The product is very thick and luxurious, which is nice because the colors stays on your lips and doesn't travel outward. 'Braised' does feather a bit so I would recommend a liner with the deeper colors.

Now, would I say to wear your hair down and drive in a convertible rockin' 'Flambé' on your lips? No. But I recommend that anytime? No! I hate convertibles! They're always ruining my hair and makeup. Windows up, AC on— please.

If you want to try out the formula of this product without owning full sizes, Sephora has a holiday set out that features four minis including 'Flambé' and 'Braised' for only $22!!!

I'm all for a good, budge-proof liquid lip but I'm excited to see brands come out with different formulas alongside them as well.

MAYBELLINE COLORSENSATIONAL VIVIDS MATTE LIQUID LIPSTICKS

The one downfall to traveling is that if you forget to pack something, you're screwed. Sure, you can go buy a replacement of what you forgot but what's the point of buying something you already own just for a couple of uses before you're back home? This was the dilemma I had while I was visiting home for the winter holidays. I desperately wanted a light, bright, warm pink lip for my New Year's Eve outfit that I had planned. The problem being that I brought home all of my dark winter shades instead of my plethora of pinks. I had forced myself into the repurchasing dilemma. I decided that I was going to go out and buy a new pink but it needed to be a new product that I had never tried so that I could sort of excuse the repurchasing.

Enter the new products of this winter. I went to Ulta three times. CVS. Rite Aid. Finally I wandered into Walgreens looking for another product that I believed had the right shade I was looking for. This is after two trips to Ulta and one more to return the Maybelline lipsticks that were too cool-toned (I didn't want MAC St. Germain. I wanted a warm, bubblegum pink.) While I didn't find the product I was looking for, I found THESE. The new Maybelline Colorsensational Vivids Matte Liquid lipsticks. What a mouthful.

I was suckered in by the bright, unique purple shade and sold when I found my perfect bubblegum pink. I didn't have these. I hadn't even ventured into the liquid lipstick world yet. That purple was unlike anything I'd ever seen by a major drugstore brand. These were made for me.

I picked up the two shades of 'Pink Charge' and 'Vivid Violet' and ran home. Well, hobbled home. I'm in a walking boot and had crutches from a surgery I had just had. That's a story for another time. These guys are exactly what I was looking for— and I didn't even realize that I was looking for until after I bought them.

The name suggests a matte product. I have to say, they don't mattify. If you put little to no product on your lips they will a little but you won't get the coverage or payoff that you should and would get by layering a few coats. However, the finish that these have is pleasurable in that they don't dry out your lips and they don't get tacky while still remaining thick. The color payoff is ridiculous and the staying time is decent— I found that I needed to reapply after a few hours. Which I didn't mind. So while the name suggests matte, don't go into these thinking you're getting a matte product and you won't be disappointed. The color range is fabulous and the price point is a typical Maybelline price of about $8 depending on where you pick them up.

I love Maybelline. They're my favorite drug store brand and this product sold me even further on them.

MAKEUP OF THE DAY - 07/18/15

Some how in some way I found myself having off on a Saturday! It's definitely a rare occasion so I'm taking full advantage and keeping myself busy— and outdoors— all day. Since I had as much time as I wanted to get ready, I did things a little differently today and played around a bit with some products that haven't seen the light in awhile.

Before
After
I've had a couple of blemishes pop up lately which is usual for my skin in the summertime but they've been nothing that my beloved Pro Longwear concealer can't handle! I hadn't pulled out my Vice palette by Urban Decay in a hella long time so I decided today was the day to give it some love. I created a pretty purple melt across the eye using a few shades and brought back a NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil as well! Check out the products that I used below.

Products used
Eyes
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Urban Decay eyeshadows in 'Rapture' (outer half), 'Provocative' (inner half) and 'Vice' (crease/blending)
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in 'Pots and Pans' underneath 'Provocative' to give it something to stick to
Stila Stay All Day liquid eyeliner
Maybelline Colossal mascara (top lashes)
L'Oreal Miss Manga Rock (bottom lashes)

Brows
Urban Decay eyeshadows in 'Secret Service' (darker) and 'Naked' (lighter)

Face
Benefit The Big Easy liquid foundation in 'Fair'
MAC Pro Longwear concealer in N15
MAC Mineralized Skin Finish Natural in 'Light'
MAC Wash and Dry Studio Sculpt Defining Powder in 'Delicates'
MAC blush in 'Melba'

Lips
NARS Satin lip pencil in 'Rikugien'

Also, can we talk about Sephora's birthday gift this year/month/right now?! Two NARS lip pencils?! OMG These are by far the best birthday gifts I've gotten from them and I've been gettin' 'em every year for a looooongggggg time… love love love! BUT that's all I've got for today! I hope you guys like the look and I'll talk to ya next week.

Enjoy your weekend! I know I will mine.

MAC WASH & DRY STUDIO SCULPT BRONZING POWDER

Hellooooooo my pretty….

Sorry for the iPhone quality photos. I'm in the midst of moving and my camera is not in my possession currently!

In classic spur of the moment fashion, I picked up a new item from MAC's latest collection. I just happened to be strolling around the internet on my pay day and saw that this collection had been released and saw that there was a bronzer in it… in this incredible packaging. 100% the reason why I bought this was because of the packaging and once I was in the car on my way to my MAC counter I realized that this was meant to be because I just hit pan on my Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer (after three years let me tell you!!!!) and was in the market for a new bronzer. I was in between repurchasing my beloved Too Faced but also wanted to try out the Hourglass Bronzing Powder but this Studio Sculpt Bronzing Powder is like both of those two combined!

There is a beautiful, delicate sheen in this light brown powder which lightly illuminates while staying true to it's name, "Delicates". It isn't too dark. It isn't too intense. It's perfect for pale people like me and finally my boyfriend can stop telling me that he can "smell my makeup" because it doesn't smell like chocolate like my incumbent bronzer.

What I've been doing is circling this around my face with a larger powder brush in the bronzing hot spots and then going in with NYX's 'Taupe' blush juuuuuust barely in the hollows of my cheeks to add some dimension.

I'm ngl, I feel pretty cool when I wear my MAC blush, this bronzer and my mineralized skin finish natural. This is the most MAC I've ever owned and now I'm slowly getting addicted because all of the products I own absolutely ROCK.

If you can, try to pick this guy up. He's 110% worth it.

GLAMGLOW SUPERMUD FACE MASK

OOooohhh la la!!! Do I have an exciting item to review for you all today :)

Today I'll be discussing GlamGlow's very-deservingly hyped product, their Supermud Clearing Treatment face mask. If you haven't seen it all around yet, you will. It's a cool product that shows exactly what it's doing which for some reason we all love (like oil blotting sheets and pore strips).

This GlamGlow mask pulls out dirt, oil and impurities from your skin in just about ten minutes and shows where those nasty things were by appearing darker while the rest of the dried mask gets lighter. I'm going to show photos of each step of the process of applying this mask so fair warning.. this post is quite photo heavy.

Let's check it out!

The mask is a dark gray color in the jar (holding 1.2oz) and has little pieces of tea leaves in it that you can see in the photos below. At Sephora the mask is sold for $70(outrageous) but I got mine on Amazon for $42(still outrageous but worth it to try it because I had been wanting to for soooo loooong).

You can see the tea leaves in this one!

See those darker spots on my nose? That's the oil that was pulled out! I've learned that I don't need to do full masks hardly ever and that I really only need to apply this mask to my nose. It's nice to use on my T-zone every so often, though. You could even use this mask as a spot treatment if you'd like! I've noticed that using this 1-2 times a week has really helped calm down my breakouts and has kept any major blemishes at bay which is a huge relief seeing as it's midterm week and I am stressed out and SICK! My skin shouldn't look at decent as it does.

I have dry-combo skin so again, I don't really NEED this product but if you have oilier skin then I would without a doubt suggest this. It makes me feel so refreshed afterwards and it's easy to apply and remove. I use a foundation brush to apply it and a warm wash cloth to wipe it all clean and it removes without a hassle.

Aside from the huge price tag, this is a perfect mask. I really haven't tried one in the past that I enjoy as much as this one! Unfortunately, once this is gone I most likely will not repurchase it so I'm going to try and ration out what I have left as best as I can.

I'd love to hear any experiences any of you have had with this guy in the comments! or if you haven't tried it, are you interested? Does the price bother you as much as it does me?
