MAKEUP OF THE DAY - 07/18/15

Some how in some way I found myself having off on a Saturday! It's definitely a rare occasion so I'm taking full advantage and keeping myself busy— and outdoors— all day. Since I had as much time as I wanted to get ready, I did things a little differently today and played around a bit with some products that haven't seen the light in awhile.

Before
After
I've had a couple of blemishes pop up lately which is usual for my skin in the summertime but they've been nothing that my beloved Pro Longwear concealer can't handle! I hadn't pulled out my Vice palette by Urban Decay in a hella long time so I decided today was the day to give it some love. I created a pretty purple melt across the eye using a few shades and brought back a NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil as well! Check out the products that I used below.

Products used
Eyes
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Urban Decay eyeshadows in 'Rapture' (outer half), 'Provocative' (inner half) and 'Vice' (crease/blending)
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in 'Pots and Pans' underneath 'Provocative' to give it something to stick to
Stila Stay All Day liquid eyeliner
Maybelline Colossal mascara (top lashes)
L'Oreal Miss Manga Rock (bottom lashes)

Brows
Urban Decay eyeshadows in 'Secret Service' (darker) and 'Naked' (lighter)

Face
Benefit The Big Easy liquid foundation in 'Fair'
MAC Pro Longwear concealer in N15
MAC Mineralized Skin Finish Natural in 'Light'
MAC Wash and Dry Studio Sculpt Defining Powder in 'Delicates'
MAC blush in 'Melba'

Lips
NARS Satin lip pencil in 'Rikugien'

Also, can we talk about Sephora's birthday gift this year/month/right now?! Two NARS lip pencils?! OMG These are by far the best birthday gifts I've gotten from them and I've been gettin' 'em every year for a looooongggggg time… love love love! BUT that's all I've got for today! I hope you guys like the look and I'll talk to ya next week.

Enjoy your weekend! I know I will mine.

MAKEUP OF THE DAY - 7/16/15

A different eyeliner technique! !! !!!! !!!!!!! !!

I'm obsessed. I wanted to wear a thicker liner today but didn't want to look too intense so I was playing around with ideas and came up with this technique! I used my Stila liquid liner to define the outer wing and to line the rest of my lash line verrrrrrry thinly. Then I took my blackest eyeshadow by Urban Decay and a short bristled shadow brush and thickened up the wing while keeping the look soft and faded it towards the center of my lid.

This could have gone either way but I LOVED it and will totally be wearing this out for the next couple of days.

Products used:
Eyes
Urban Decay eyeshadow in 'Straycat'
Stila Stay All Day liquid liner
Urban Decay eyeshadow in 'Blackout'
L'Oreal Miss Manga Rock mascara
Brows - Urban Decay eyeshadow in 'Secret Service' (Excuse the non-groomed hairs)

Face
Benefit The Porefessional primer
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer in 'Fair'
MAC Studio Sculpt Defining Powder in 'Delicates'
MAC blush in 'Melba'

Let me know how you like this look below!

MAKEUP OF THE DAY: 04/08/14

10 points to me for this look! I'm having a little internal victory at the moment because I'm finally sharing a look of mine that isn't just a light color washed over the lid with a defining color in the crease and deep shade on the outer edge. I've been feeling like my posts were starting to get a little bit repetitive so I decided to throw this look together and share how I came up with it!

I'm not sure what to call this look.. maybe a cool/purple smoke? I don't know. I tried something different that's all that matters! I have the products listed below that I used as well as a video showing just how I applied those products!

 photo IMG_0003_zps531a8a9b.jpg

MAKEUP OF THE DAY - 2/10/14

Hey guys! Let me be frank with ya for a second.. I've been in a makeup rut. I feel like I can't escape it. My eye looks are always a light base with a medium shade in the crease and a deep color or black in the outer V with some liner and mascara. It's gotten repetitive and boring! So I have been inspired by my own rut to create a different kind of look for today's makeup of the day.

So here is it!

Ugh. I seriously need to remember to brush out my brow gel. It's the one thing I ALWAYS forget and it's soo annoying to see.
For today's look I covered my entire lid with a darker blue base and dabbed my favorite silver shadow in the middle of my lid to make everything pop. Instead of my usual thin winged liner, I opped for a more intense one! I always forget how much fun it is to play with colors and I really need to do it more often.

Products used
Eyes:
Urban Decay Primer Potion
LORAC eyeshadow 'Slate' (all over lid)
L'Oreal HIP eyeshadow duo 'Platinum' (silver shade - in middle of lid)
LORAC eyeshadow 'Mauve' (crease)
L'Oreal HIP eyeshadow duo 'Platinum' (black shade - outer corner)
Stila Stay All Day liquid eyeliner
Covergirl Clump Crusher mascara [quickly becoming my favorite]
Maybelline Big Eyes mascara

Face:
MAC Pro Longwear concealer 'NW15'
Urban Decay eyeshadow 'Secret Service' (brows)
Anastasia brow gel

This look is just the start of it for me and stepping out of my comfort zone. There are only so many brown toned nude shadow looks that a makeup blog can hold and I'm fairly certain I have exceeded my limit. Oops! Hopefully my upcoming looks will inspire some of you all to step out and use some color in your looks as well :) Let me know what you thought of this one and if you have any creative looks that you've seen, send 'em my way! I would love to try them out.

Until next posttttt,

MAKEUP OF THE DAY: 01/05/14

Today's makeup look drew inspiration from the earrings that I'm wearing in the photo above and below this writing. My mom got me them for Christmas and they are so incredibly chic I just can't get over it. I almost feel like I'm not worthy of wearing them.. I LOVE them. I had intended on the eyeshadow on this look being a bit more noticeable in photos but hey, what can you do? Urban Decay's 'Provocateur' is a really interesting shade and wears oddly so it's very difficult to pick up on camera. It's almost a bit gritty but never appears so. It's weird.

On another note, I've been really loving my eyebrows lately. I've only started loving them even more now that I'm using Gimme Brow. I am very proud of them! What I'm not proud of is my skin… uggghhhh I don't know what's going on with my skin but I cannot seem to get a handle on it. It doesn't help that I'm physically incapable of applying concealer properly because I don't end up concealing ANYTHING. I'm also paper white and no face products come in my skin tone which is why I had to use my Smashbox Photo Ready BB Cream because it makes me tanner but even then I couldn't conceal for the life of me… okay my blabbering is over. But yeah. I photoshopped the blemishes out in these photos but in the video below you'll be able to see it :(

Star of the show is my Maybelline ColorSensational Vivids lipstick in 'Vivid Rose'. I had originally put on my NARS Sheer lipstick in 'Dolce Vita' (it's in the video) but I looked so boring so I had to throw this guy on.

The products that I used in this look are…
Eyes:
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Urban Decay eyeshadow 'Provocateur'
Anastasia Matte Highlighting Pencil
Stila Stay All Day liquid eyeliner
Urban Decay eyeshadow 'Blackout'
Urban Decay eyeshadow 'Tease'
Covergirl Clump Crusher mascara
Urban Decay eyeshadow 'Secret Service'
Benefit Gimme Brow 'Medium/Deep'

Face:
Benefit The Porefessional
Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch concealer 'Radiant'
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer 'Fair'
NYX HD Photogenic concealer 'Green'
Covergirl TRUconceal concealer '1'
Smashbox Photo Ready BB Cream 'Light'
MAC Mineralized Skin Finish Natural 'Light'
Too Faced Chocolate Soleil bronzer 'Milk Chocolate'
Benefit blush 'Dandelion'

Lips:
Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment
NYX Slim lip liner 'Nude Beige'
NARS Sheer lipstick 'Dolce Vita'
OR
Maybelline ColorSensational Vivids 'Vivid Rose'

and if you'd like to see me applying this look super fast with awesome background music(The 1975) [or not you could always mute the video there aren't any voiceovers] then looooook! I have posted it!

Hope you enjoy! See you in my next post :)

MAKEUP OF THE DAY - 12/13/13

Hello and happy Saturday to you all! Today I have my third and final holiday look to post. If you aren't currently a subscriber to my channel on YouTube, then you've missed out on two holiday look videos(even though I did post one to the blog..) but if you want to check them out you can find my channel here. I went to my first Christmas party last night so I got to do my go-to Christmas look of winged liner and red lips. To keep it true to myself, I still had some eyeshadow on and my red was more of a deep, blood red but still jolly nonetheless! Scroll down below to read about the products that I used to get this look:

Products used
Eyes:
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in 'Pots & Pans'
Urban Decay eyeshadows in 'Provocateur' and 'Echo Beach'
Maybelline EyeStudio gel liner
Urban Decay eyeshadow in 'Black Market' (eyeliner)
Covergirl Clump Crusher mascara
Maybelline Big Eyes mascara
Urban Decay eyeshadow in 'Secret Service' (brows)

Face:
L'Oreal True Match foundation in 'Alabaster' (I KNOW! I don't wear foundation! But my face.. well, my forehead has been a war zone throughout finals weeks so I really needed to pull it out until it calms down a little)
Maybelline Dream Lumi concealer in 'Radiant'
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer in 'Fair'
Nicole Miller loose powder in 'Medium'
Philosophy Lit From Within cream blush in 'Feel Warm All Over'
NYX blush in 'Bourgeois Pig'
Too Faced Chocolate Soleil bronzer in 'Milk Chocolate'

Lips:
NYX Slim Lip Pencil in 'Plum'
NYX Jumbo Lip Pencil in 'Deep Red'

I really loved this look and aside from my eyes being insanely bloodshot for some reason I thought it looked beautiful and very festive! Would enjoy hearing your feedback in the comments :)

MAKEUP OF THE DAY - 12/5/13

Hello beautiful people! Today's post came from a failed video attempt.. see, I got a new camera. and it's confusing. I was halfway through the video when I realized I was out of focus! Trashed that idea and decided to do a good ole' blog post (even though I was going to do a post in addition to the video.. but oh well)

I wanted to try out the Urban Decay 'Sin/Mushroom' eyeshadow duo that I got in my Sephora Super Stars kit. I wasn't too wild about the idea of the two shadows actually being used together and I have to say after trying it out I still am not wild about them. They are both beautiful (Sin is my all-time favorite eyeshadow) but definitely need to be used in different looks. That being said, it's still a decent eye look so I hope you like it!

I'm definitely trying to make to most out of the week or so I have left in my apartment so I can take as many videos and pictures in front of my Christmas tree as possible! I'm also doing the whole dark-lip-every-day-because-it's-acceptable-and-won't-be-soon-enough because I LOVE DARK LIPS!! I took the advice of somebody that I recently watched a video of by creating a new lip shape when using a dark lip color. I can't for the life of me remember who said it and I went all the way back on my YouTube history and still couldn't figure it out! Anyway, I've never liked my lip shape so I do like playing around and creating a different one!

Products Used
Eyes:
Maybelline Color Tattoo in 'Tough as Taupe'
Urban Decay eyeshadows in 'Sin' and 'Mushroom'
NYX Roll-on Shimmer in 'Salmon'
Maybelline Eye Studio gel eyeliner in 'Blackest Black'
Stila Stay All Day liquid eyeliner in 'Intense Black'
Maybelline MegaPlush, Big Eyes and Colossal mascaras all in 'Black'
Urban Decay eyeshadow in 'Secret Service' (eyebrows)

Face:
Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch concealer in 'Radiant' (undereyes)
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer in 'Fair' (undereyes)
Covergirl TRUconceal concealer in '1' (blemishes)
Rimmel Stay Matte powder in 'Sandstorm'
Revlon Photoready cream blush in 'Pinched'
Too Faced Chocolate Soleil bronzer in 'Milk Chocolate'

Lips:
NYX lip liner in  '812 Plum'
NYX Brush-on Gloss in 'Killer' (I do NOT recommend this product in the slightest. It never gets even and it rubs everywhere just minutes after wearing it. I got it years ago in a bundle from Haute Look and I really love the intensity of it to play around with. That's the only reason that I still own/use it!)

The star of the show: Urban Decay's 'Sin/Mushroom' duo

Hope you guys have a lovely weekend!

MAKEUP OF THE DAY - 11/5/13

In my recent times of trying to use up the unecessary amount of makeup that I own, I've been able to get more creative so I can use up the things that I haven't been using! I anticipated purchasing this L'Oreal Infallible eyeshadow for so long but once I bought it I almost never wore it. It's such a shame but I've now found out a perfect way to pair it with NYX's cream eyeshadow in order to make a warm and rusted rose gold eye look. I really love how it came out!

Products used:
-NYX Cream Shadow in 'Musk'
-L'Oreal Infallible Shadow in 'Amber Rush'
-Urban Decay eyeshadow in 'Tease' (light in crease)
-L'Oreal Lineur Intense eyeliner in black
-set with Urban Decay eyeshadow in 'Blackout' (also placed lightly on lower lash line)
-CoverGirl Clump Crusher mascara
-Maybelline Big Eyes mascara

P.S. please ignore my brows! I ran my gel through and forgot to brush it out after it had dried.. rookie mistake.

I hope you are all doing well!

MAKEUP + OUTFIT OF THE NIGHT (09/20/13)

Hey y'all!! Outfit/makeup post for you all today! I had my first fancy mixer with my sorority and a fraternity at my school so we got to get all dolled up and have a great time! I finally got to wear this dress that I got from Charlotte Russe last year and never had any place to wear it to! If I had a link to it I would give it but they definitely don't sell it any longer.

Makeup:
Urban Decay eyeshadows - Half Baked, Blitz, Muse and Blackout
Sephora eyeshadow - white shimmery shade that I got for my birthday gift years and year and years ago
Rimmel ScandalEyes Kohl eyeliner - Black
Urban Decay eyeshadow - Secret Service (eyebrows)

Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer - Fair/Light
Revlon Photo Ready Cream Blush - Pinched
NYX Blush - Taupe (contour)

MAC Lipstick - Please Me
NYX Butter Gloss - Peaches and Cream

I also had black heels on but I swear.. I can never get my whole outfit in one shot with this 50mm lens!
Also, I curled my hair using a Hot Tools one inch curling iron.

It was a great night and I loved that I could finally wear this dress that I've been drooling over in my closet for so long!

MAKEUP OF THE DAY - 06/02/13

I told y'all I was going to be posting a more dramatic, golden look! Here she is:

Golden eyes always remind me of my best friend throughout middle school and high school. She had these beautiful blue eyes that were complimented just perfectly with a bright yellowy-gold and I was always so jealous that I couldn't pull it off! Trust me, I tried. Hello 2007!

Anywho, here's how I achieved the look..

Products used:
Eyes:
-Lorac Behind The Scenes Eye Primer
-MAC Fix+ (sprayed brush)
-Urban Decay eyeshadow in 'Half Baked' (applied wet)
-Urban Decay eyeshadows 'Naked'(large crease area), Smog(more condensed) and Darkhorse(mostly outer edge)
-L'Oreal HIP Duo in 'Gilded'(the darker color; to add the most deep definition)
-L'Oreal Lineur Intense Felt Tip Liquid eyeliner
-Maybelline MegaPlush and Colossal mascaras

Face:
-Benefit blush in 'Dandelion'
-Urban Decay eyeshadow in 'Secret Service'(eyebrows)

Lips:
-Revlon Lip Butter in 'Pink Lemonade'

I always tried to stray away from golds but I'm starting to reeealllly like them!

MAKEUP OF THE DAY - 05/30/13 + NULLI SECUNDA HEADBAND

I've been liking golden looks lately so I've decided to start implementing them into my own looks! Today is pretty demure but later in the week I'm going to go all out gold and bronze. Products will be listed below and I will be talking about the headband I'm wearing!

The whole eyeshadow look was created using the Urban Decay Vice Palette!

I have been talking with a lovely gal, Susan, of Nulli Secunda Clothing and she sent me a headband that she is selling in her Etsy shop. First off, I wasn't expecting it to come from the United Kingdom! If you know me, you know that England is my love. I love that country. So I was even more in love with this headband than I originally was! It's a cotton headband made of a floral fabric with elastic on the back part(where you can't see in this photo.. duh!). Super happy about this because hard headbands don't fit on my (supposedly oddly shaped) head and hurt behind my ears! I'm all about fabric headbands and this guy is totally swoon-worthy. It's so comfortable and doesn't slide off your head at all! If you're interested in purchasing this bad guy, head over to her shop here.

Don't be surprised if you see it in upcoming looks and videos. I love this thing. Thanks a billion, Susan!!

Products used:
Eyes:
-Lorac Behind The Scenes primer
-Urban Decay eyeshadows in 'Echo Beach'(lid), 'Buzz'(lid), 'Laced'(crease), 'Nevermind'(crease) and 'Black Market'(eyeliner)
-Maybelline MegaPlush, Colossal and Colossal Cat Eyes mascaras

Face:
-Benefit The Porefessional primer
-L'Oreal True Match Crayon concealer 'Fair/Light'
-Rimmel Stay Matte powder 'Sandstorm'
-NYX Liquid Illuminator 'Gleam' (as a blush)
-Urban Decay eyeshadow 'Secret Service' (brows)

Lips:
-Maybelline Color Whisper 'Pink Possibilities'

Have a lovely day, loves! Love love love
